🍜 Food for thought, made from scratch

Welcome to my culinary playground, where flavour, traditional wisdom, and innovation meet.

I'm a scientist, entrepreneur, and educator with a background in sustainability, especially in food systems. As a passionate urban gardener and incurably curious cook, I explore the intersection of food, health, ecology, and culture. I’m particularly fascinated by forgotten, overlooked, and emerging ingredients — and how understanding what we eat, and why, helps reveal the systems shaping our choices and lives.

Over the years, I’ve designed and taught workshops on food seasonality, fermentation, and sourdough bread. Not to pass on recipes, but to foster food literacy as a foundation for more sustainable and joyful eating. I believe in teaching processes, methods, and systems that spark appreciation, creativity and confidence in the kitchen.

Roots & Horizons is also my personal collection, a growing archive of ideas and methods I return to when inspiration runs low. Having struggled myself to consistently eat according to my ideals during busy times, this space helps me reconnect with what matters.

🤝 Collaborations welcome

Are you developing a novel ingredient or rethinking how we nourish ourselves?

I support startups, emerging brands, and food-tech innovators by crafting recipes and culinary concepts that don’t just taste good, but tell a story.

My work bridges culinary creativity and intuitive technique with a deep sensitivity to ingredient potential. I specialise in translating complex or unfamiliar foods into dishes that are approachable, expressive, and emotionally resonant.

If you're looking for:

🌱 Early-stage recipe development and testing
✨ Creative applications for novel food products or overlooked ingredients
📷 Visual storytelling, food photography & design
🧭 Guidance on strategic sustainability positioning

…then I’d love to collaborate.
Let’s create something that connects people not just to what they eat, but to why it matters.
